I have this posted over at ADV but thought the folks over here might want to take a peek, too. Check it out, ask questions, offers considered!
Up for sale is a beautiful 2005 Ural Patrol 2WD. I recently bought this bike from the original owner as a non-runner, it had been in storage for some time. It's currently getting a full-bore detail and tune in my workshop and will be ready for a new home as soon as you are ready to come and see it.
Clean California title (in my name) and current registration. The odometer currently shows 6200km (that's 3900 miles) and will be ticking off a few more klicks under my care.
This is my second Ural - I also have a 2006 Gear Up. There are minor differences, but they both feel pretty much the same from the driver's seat. Actually, this one seems somewhat more civilized. But I like to take my '06 on trails from time to time, and its all drab green color makes it much easier to keep looking nice, so it stays and this pretty Patrol goes. I'm a neat freak.
This rig is like new. Glossy, scratch-free paint, clean aluminum castings, shiny and rust-free chrome, no leaks. Everything works properly including 2WD and reverse gear. The original owner claims that it has never seen a dirt road, and I believe him.
Here's a list of recent service and included goodies.
The carpet kit looks nice, though it's a bit plush for such a workhorse, in my opinion - but it really quiets down the noisy resonance of the sidecar. Not bad.
She starts up immediately on the button or the kickstarter. The transmission is agricultural, just like my '06, but it works great and, for some reason, has little of the gear whine of my other bike. The clutch is like butter and the throttle response is crisp. Plan on installing a Raceway Services hand shifter for reverse gear and you will be much happier.
There are two minor cosmetic issues. A minor scrape on the black frame near the sidecar step, and the left turn signal mount on the fork cover has been neatly re-welded (they are a little weak) and could stand a touch-up. Other than that, she's really like new.
For you Ural shoppers, this bike doesn't have quite as many improvements as the newest models, but it's got the essentials. Reliable Nippondenso alternator, Brembo four-piston front brake, high quality wiring harness, and the much improved 750cc engine. Save $5K+ over a new one and if you wear out or break anything, you will still be money ahead. My 2006 is almost identical to this one and in 12,000km, I have had to replace a turn signal flasher.
$7950 or best offer. Not looking for any trades at this time, but as always, if you have something rare or cool, run it by me. I'll install any aftermarket goodies you might want to add, free of charge. I kinda like working on Urals. PM, email or give me a ring at (916) 833-1695.
