2006 Chevy 1500 4x4 - Question

I've got a buddy with said vehicle that is searching for stuff like skids, bumpers, lifts, etc. I'm trying to help him out but I'm a toyota guy so I don't know where to start. It seems like there are products spread out everywhere so this search is becoming tiresome.

I know with toyota, at least for mine, there is OME, Toytec, Sonoran, ARB, etc. Are there a few places that the domestic guys frequent?

There are skids available from the factory, but I think they usually came on z71's. My Tahoe is an Ls but it has the skid package (and other stuff, I think it was a special order or just a funky combo of items offered). He could always look at a junkyard for a z71 and see if he can get the skids for cheap. It would be better than nothing and not kill the bank account.

the prerunner community loves the 99-07c silverado/sierra platform. You should have no problem finding parts for those years

Blitzkreig Motor Sports has some really nice suspensions. If his is 2wd, there are some nice long travel suspensions from BMS & Camburg.

For 4x4, BMS has some systems for that torsion bar setup.

2000-2007
2wd models were coil/spring
4x4 models were torsion bar

2007+ 4x4s came with coil/spring ifs for which BMS has an awesome setup.

I just so happened to be researching all this last night.
