He means the pop top... not the van. The pop top is brand new it’s had 3 trips in it. The pop top alone with the paint match is $18k... a little rust mitigation & this thing is good to go... Especially in today’s market this is a deal.
If we bring in back into our shop (I work for CCV) to sell it & address the rust (I know first hand what needs to be done) It‘ll go back on the market for $36k & it will sell.
Personally I’m not a fan of Chevys but this van has a lot of potential with some elbow grease & an interior build out (If that’s you jam). Only reason they are selling is to many vehicles & a major move to another state. If you can find a comparable van for 8k then show me ?

I agree the rust probably isn’t that big of an issue.
Could be fixed pretty inexpensively.
I also can’t see how people are trading 18k for the painted pop top install.

At 250 plus vans a year with 80% receiving a pop top... we don’t seem to have any problems with selling our tops, painted or not...
