OK the time has come the thin the herd a little. Some of you may of seen our ambulance conversion (Linked Here). This is exactly the same configuration of truck we started with. Somehow we managed to buy 7 of them and now we have run out of room. So we will have a couple for sale. Here is #7
2006 4 Door Freightliner M2 106 ex-Ambulance
- Titled as a motor home
- Quad cab / four door currently has 4 seats
- Mercedes MBE926 turbo diesel engine 7.2 liters set at 280 HP
- Allison 3000 EVS 6 speed transmission (includes heavy duty remote cooler)
- Medic Master ambulance body (American La France manufacturer)
- Body is approximately 13’ long x 8’ wide and has an inside head height of 6’
- 217,000 miles
- 19.5” alloy wheels
- 90 gallon fuel tank
- Dual auxiliary AC’s (Cab and Box)
- Mounting and wiring for 110v RV style AC
- 110v outlets inside box.
- Additional 12v outlets inside box and cab
- Can hold 4 group 31 batteries (currently has 2 batteries and these should be replaced)
- Scene lighting on all sides.
- Under body lights.
- Engine seems strong with no codes
- 217,000 miles.
- Full county service history
This truck is exactly like we purchased it from the county. Except the rooftop RV style AC and cover were removed to reduce the height for transport across the country.
On our test drives we have not noticed any issues. Power is on a par with the other trucks. No strange noises or smells. Transmission shifts smoothly.
Known issues:
- Clear coat is peeling on the hood.
- Decals were not fully removed from the sides and rear of the box.
- Scratches and small dings on the body/box.
- Only the drivers seat has a back. The other seats are made for SCUBA tanks and are incredibly uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time.
- There are some holes in the box where the attendants chair and the stretcher holders were removed.
- A couple of the outside cabinet latches will need adjusting.
- Batteries are on their way out.
