My run down of the bike:
I bought it a year ago with 2300 miles on it and a few mod's. I have built 90% of this bike to what it is today. It has been very good at what it is but I am just interested in a little more bike. It will use/burn oil when ran over 5k rpms for pro-longed periods of time. According to Kawasaki, this is ‘industry standard'…according to the forum goers, it needs the 685 kit. I plan to do the 685 if it doesn't sell. That said, I would ride this bike around the world tomorrow if I could and it's ready to go. It has been dropped once on a sand trail and the only damage was from my eye-lets on my boots scratched my pannier. It has seen probably 1000 miles of dirt road and 2-track, 90% of the other miles come from highway. The rear panniers easily detach from the bike.

I have records on bike and maintenance since I have owned it and have documented every fill up for the last 3700 miles. I also have a factory service manual I put together which I will include with the bike.

My price is $4,900 obo and the bike is located in South Bend, Indiana. Title ready to hand over.

Fly and ride to SBN and I can pick you up after 5:30est m-f and anytime on the weekends. Will help ship on my end.

I do not plan to part any of it out. I sold the stock parts as I replaced them. Wait...I think I have a shift lever, the carb needle and a jet if you are interested in that. Lol

Thanks for the offer, but did all of the same. Good luck!

Thanks!

To anyone interested in my bike, I have no intentions on offering it at a lower price. My bike is very competitively priced. I realize I won't get asking price but I am open to offers and negotiation.

Say it isn't so, Frank. I just joined the KLR club and was looking forward to having you as a trusted resource. Your KLR thread was very informative and helpful. Sounds like you may have set your sights on something else (probably orange...) but you will be missed by the KLR community.

Thanks for the kind words and input! So far I have had 2 people that seemed interested, no one to show money or even make an offer.

This bike is very well put together and works awesome. Who knows...I might just end up keeping it. :) I am NOT interested in dumping it off for something cheap!

And dont be afraid to ask questions! klr650.net is a great resource!

-or I will trade it for 2.5 ounces of gold. For 3.5oz I will throw in my aerostich suit, darien jacket, heated fleece and my Arai helmet

I put about 500 miles on her this weekend! -she rode awesome but I still stand by my word that I need a bigger bike. I would consider a trade+cash for a F800GS

I've decided to move it to its hibernation spot for the winter months...it might come out every once in a while to keep the moving parts moving.

I have a laundry list of things I plan to do to it this winter such as a total cleaning, check EVERYTHING, finally insert my temp gauge layover, send my shock to Rick at Cogent to be serviced, possibly an Excel front wheel for sexy points, degrease/clean the chain, etc. etc.

If this ad is up, any offers will be considered until I shell out the dough for a 685 kit which wont be until Feb'ish time frame.
