Due to job changes and the inability to use the rig I just finished building, I am going to sell an expo ready custom build. This setup is registered as an RV. Here is the build thread. If you are seriously considering building an expo rig, you should take a look at this one. It is cheaper than what you can do on your own and you get nearly 18 months of planning, knowledge and expertise as part of the deal.

This is a great truck! If the lucky buyer hurries, they can just make it to Overland Expo.

Hummmmm, yeah, lotto.....cool idea!

Why not sell lotto tickets to sell this rig?

Offer on the portal 1,000 tickets at $100 bucks a piece and give those of us too poor to buy one of these the chance to win one!

Just a thought.....

Actually that is the best idea I have ever heard! I would SO be in for 2 raffle tickets. Not sure if you could sell 1000 tickets on here, but it never hurts to try. Oh and here is a great option. If you end up selling more than 1000 tickets the extra could go to charity or something. Ok I will stop thinking now.

Even if I won it through the raffle, I couldn't afford to put tires on it and fill the tank. But, it would look damn fine sitting in my driveway. :)

I like the raffle idea and I really like the charity angle. I am not in a hurry to sell, so let me look into this and see if there is something that makes sense. The odds are probably better than heading to your favorite gambling casino!

If you are seriously going to consider the raffle thing, I would think about trying to sell 500 $200 tickets, or something of that range. I know trying to get 1000 $100 tickets sold might be hard unless you open it up to more than just the ExPo guys. Oh and put a clause in the raffle thing that the new owner must not sell the vehicle for at least 3 years or something like that. That way you know its going to someone who wants to use it and not just resell it. (me)

If you're seriously considering going that route, be sure to do your research. A few years ago someone was trying to raffle off a vehicle & ran into legal problems with it - I don't recall the details, but the vehicle ended up not getting raffled off.

Lotto idea should be legal

In recent years, I have seen several times whete people have advertised that they were selling their homes with the raffle ticket concept, so it must be legal, at least in states that allow the lottery tickets to be sold.....which is about everywhere these days. I have also read several newspaper articles publicizing this type of sale.

I think the limit might be that you can sell only enough tickets to cover the value of the item and the costs of the promotion, and also that you have to pledge that you will refund the money you have collected if not enough tickets are sold to make the raffle work.

That being said, I like, any forum member would gladly spend my yearly lotto budget on a ticket or two for a unbelievably cool rig like this.....so, yeah, please do check into this idea!
