2012 Rally Fighter by Local Motors

Phoenix-based Local Motors says its Rally Fighter is street legal as a kit car. The company helps you assemble the vehicle over 3 weekends, and provides the documentation you'll need to license the vehicle in your state. Prices start at $75K, cheap for a vehicle that meets (or can be easily modified to meet) the race rules for the 2wd custom class of many sanctioning bodies, yet can still be a daily driver.

I met the founders of Local Motors a couple years ago when they were based out of Cape Cod in MA. Very interesting group of guys with an idea that (at the time) seemed rather insane. Seems to have worked out for them at this point. I know they were hoping to have a whole line of group-think designed vehicles within a couple years....seems they have slowed things down a bit and are really focusing on making the RF work before expanding their ventures.
