Want to overland the southern part of the Pan-American Highway? Looking for a way to explore Patagonia, Torres del Paine or other parts of South America? Don't want the expenses of shipping your own vehicle?
Here is for sale - one of the most popular stock vehicles in the overland market:
2012 TOYOTA TUNDRA SR5 Crewmax
- 5.7 liter V8
- 2WD, 4WD high & low range
- 6-speed automatic transmission
- 2" lift
- Rancho shocks
- Bridgestone Dueler Revo 3
- TRG truck bed rack
- Volcano XL Roof Top Tent 6'1" x 7'2" (1.85 x 2.20 mtr)
- Trailer hitch w. 7-pin wiring
- Upgraded stereo with built-in GPS & Bluetooth
- Power steering, power windows, power locks, and power mirrors
- Center console with cupholders & large storage area
- Dual-zone air-conditioning
- Remote keyless locks
- Cruise control
- Front & rear 12-volt power outlets
The story: we (me, my wife & 2 kids) purchased this vehicle from a local garage and traveled thru South America for 4.5 months. It has a Chilean license plate, but was originally manufactured in the US (has a US VIN), so could likely be brought back to the US. It was properly maintained during our travel, and has up-to-date Chilean papers (registration, annual safety inspection & insurance). With the extra 2" ground clearance, we were able to travel to every imaginable corner of the South American continent without any issues.
Mileage 100.000 mi / 160.810 km
Asking Price 16.350 USD / 16M CLP
The vehicle is stored at Overandes in Santiago, Chile (www.overandes.com). Yes, foreigners are legally able to purchase, own, drive, and insure Chilean vehicles. Juan-Pablo, the owner of Overandes, is a Chilean native who is fluent in English and has extensive travel experience and mechanical knowledge. He can help with any required paperwork to transfer ownership, and can help with buying/installing/arranging any additional gear/items.
