Two days after delivery

After first weekend run.

So what we wanted to build was a expedition jeep for camping and 4x4 runs, and still have the daily driver. We started with a fully loaded 2013 jk Rubicon in dune color. We looked and did not like any of the other colors available at the time so we went with dune, when it came it is was really amazed at the color. I liked it but to see it first time it was sweet. Reminded me of the camel trophy defenders.

First mod was power boards. I know not very off roadish, but kids and grandma can get in no problem.

Then came hi-lift mount.

Also swaped out colored fenders for black, gravel will damage the colored ones in no time.

Then the molle panel came in.

AEV Bumper upgrade

I do not like the plastic bumperets, so I am going to remove them and the cans behind them and replace with a nice set of red d rings and mounts.

Today I got a pile of ram mounts to start mounting my gopro inside and out side the jeep. I also got some mounts for the kids tablets on the headrests too. And a tablet holder for the front and also a phone holder too. Too many mounts my wife laughed when see seen the shipment.

Update on rack. I went on a trip about 3 hours drive each way. I had to stop 4 times to ajust the wind deflector, and it was cold out and windy. But I think its good now. There was a lot of wind noise on the way back but this was due to me rushing and not packing the stuff up there right and a lot of wind noise was my fault. I will still be getting the sound mats for the hardtop, but could live without them.

Ram mounts worked perfectly. I was able to set up my tablet on the dash and also on the rear speaker bar for the kid with very little effort. Also my phone mounted up nice by the driver's side tweeter. I just ordered a few waterproof usb plugs to install around the jeep for power so I don't have to run long cables to the devices. I also want a headphone jack on the speaker bar so I can tie in there from the tablet to the radio, again so I dont have this cord around the shifter. But the wife loved it. She had to get used to the ram mounts a bit but after almost damaging the charging cable once she seen how they worked.

As we came out of the restaurant on morning, a guy followed me and asked to talk about our jeep. You bet I said. He said he and his wife asked to sit but the window that was right by our jeep so they could look at it and want to make sure he could see when we left to talk to me. He had so many questions. It was great. His wife loved the color so much. Ps my best friend has a od green jeep that he loves... but I told him dune is the best and this proves it. He has never had a complement on his color. Lol

Sounds cool. Any pics are links you can share on the phone mount and USB plugs?

Very nice!

Looking at your Gobi, it appears they changed the design for front bar mounting points. Sure would make dealing with windshield lights easier.

Would be cool to see some pics of your dash setup with the ram mounts. I am using the JKE dock to mount off of but always curious to see other ideas.

The new rack mount look better and stronger too. I just cant say enough good abot this rack. I get so many looks and comments on it. My next order to Northridge 4x4 is the extra mounts for axe and shovel and also a awning mount.

Maybe Gobi will trade me for the new design! Ha!

I've had zero issues with mine but I agree I like the design better. I may just put some lights up on the Stealth bar and use the same wiring for the windshield lights to make ease of rack removal better and just not run lower windshield lights when I am running the rack.

My next addition for the rack looks to be a RTT!
