I had a chance to preview this rig this week it is amazing condition. I've never seen a nicer luxury truck on a camp vehicle. I could imagine leaving my 'work' life on trips and feeling on vacation the second I leave the driveway - the truck is that nice! The owners have done impeccable job of keeping camper 'new'. Was mainly used for ski / snowmobile trips little off-road use. Malayan has some interesting features especially fold up skirt truck sides and it's is narrower than much of the crowd it seems. It has a smaller than normal pass-through to keep the heat where you want it but we did check with Provan and for less than $1000 you can lose your backseat and have a large pass-through!

I was curious if anyone knows difference between Malayan LT and Malayan HT? I was comparing by photos and it seems the HT came on large 4500 & 5500 trucks but can't find many more differences.

Looks nice, but Is that a pass thru for ants? ?

Kinda defeats the purpose of a tiger, its the same as a truck camper then.

The pass through definitely small, it even has a plug to close it 100%, it does make sense when camping in very cold weather not having to heat truck cab but otherwise i would prefer a full pass through myself. Provan said 1 of 2 built this way. Owner told me it was built so grandkids had buckled in place to ride.

The Malayan LT is unleaded gas and the Malayan HT is diesel.

Stuart- Not correct this is an LT and diesel. I think it has to do if you had a 1 ton truck (LT) or 1.5/2 ton truck (HT). Other than that I'm a bit amiss as to the differences.

I actually like that it's not a crew cab - makes the package short enough to fit in my driveway!

I think you may be right after further examination. I also read “LT is 1.5 feet shorter and lighter than the HT. The LT has a full size bed vs a queen sized bed in the HT, and also you lose a wardrobe by downsizing.”

When you checked with provan, did they say how long widening the pass through would take? they do it? and can the seat be replaced with storage/dog seat in do you know?
Thx

Machu I didn't take it to the level of detail you are asking with Provan. We got the price which was great, they said it was like 8 man hours labor and some materials if I remember, but we decided the trip to SC to do conversion was too much for us and this rig was around top of our budget. I am sure there is some seating options with larger pass-through for dogs and such. Look at what other people have done with the Tigers back seats of extended & crew cabs. I looked at a 2005 tiger cx crew cab chevy that had two back captain chairs that you could fold down pretty small or completely remove easily.

Everyone has different needs and desires, of course.

We purposely picked a Regular Cab Tiger because:
1. Much easier to park, especially legally parallel park in the small towns we visit,
2. Shorter WB makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces, both on and off road,
3. Can even do a U turn on 2 lane roads (whoops, missed that turnoff, gotta do a U’ey).
4. We often can get the last campsite at parks when all the big ones are already full.
5. The “crawl thru” to get into the back is much easier to navigate.

So for the two of us, the RegCab is a perfect fit.

Yeah, "Driveway Parking" sounds like a silly criterion until you price out RV/Trailer parking in my area. Even a moderately safe outdoor spot (fenced, cameras) within 20-30 minutes of my house would be $200+ a month. And at that price I'd be dependent on the solar to keep the batteries maintained - even basic power hookup adds $$. That's a LOT of gas money.
