Hey All. Long time lurker here. I originally found this place when I was looking to buy my E-series van and have enjoyed the content and overall knowledge provided since. A couple years ago the Lexus GX caught my attention after looking into getting a 4Runner as a daily. I soon realized that the GX460 was a better fit for what I was looking for. I'm a photographer for a living and mostly shoot motorsports and was looking for a vehicle comfortable enough to make the 2.5 hour trip to Vegas from my home in Lake Havasu, AZ while also being capable enough to carry me to whatever gigs might come my way. I've done a lot of work in the off-road world from UTVs in Utah to Trophy Trucks in Baja, so a vehicle that will handle a comfortable commute and be able to get me to the shoot location when I get there is important.
I was able to source a 2015 GX460 Base locally with 85k miles and have been wanting to get a build going since. As I'm on the road about 2 weeks out of every month and at my computer editing every minute in between a DIY project was out of the question so I needed to find a shop somewhat nearby that could handle the build for me. After scouring the internet I ran across the guys at Wescott Designs and through fate I ended up crossing paths with Jeff Westcott professionally this year. Once I talked to Jeff I knew that my GX lovingly referred to as Big Booty Jooody would be in good hands with his crew. I thought I'd post up here so I could share my excitement with like minded strangers on the internet 😁.
This is how Jooody started life. Just a regular stay-at-home dad car. With the help of Westcott the result should be a capable clean highway/baja multi tool.
