Additional Information:
  • Needs a tire balance – When I drove it to Expo in Loveland this August I noticed that around 80mph+ it has a slight vibration.
  • Passes Emissions Test Without Issue.
  • Truck was involved in an accident 2 years ago. Airbags did not deploy, was cosmetic damage, PCOR System was not installed at the time. Front grill, driver side headlamp, drivers side quarter panel, and bumper were replaced. USAA insurance paid for the repair and was completed locally by Caliber Collision. It’s been 2 years since the accident and everything is normal like it was. The only thing I'd point out is that Caliber could have done a better job at getting the panels to line up perfectly. Someone super picky might want to spend a little time getting those panels to line up better. Again, never been a big deal for me but since I'm trying to be 110% transparent about the truck in this post, I figured I'd mention it. A side note on this: One of our current technicians came to us with a ton of experience in body-shops and explained that those big shops doing insurance jobs are just cranking out work as fast as possible, and that, that workmanship is pretty common. This prob won’t matter to 98% of the people out there but am trying to provide an abundance of information rather than leave it out or sugar coat it.
  • Ram Navigation Maps Software Upgrade Installed. USB Included.
  • Owners Manuals and Original Paperwork in perfect condition.
  • Tons of fun to drive. Turns a lot of heads.

Photos - realizing after posting these that the quality of several are not great. was a rainstorm rolling thru and you can see the dust and junk it stirred up on everything. hopefully it gets the point across and can update with some better photos later.

So I have had a few people ask some questions and figured others would also appreciate the information.
  • I will get a bunch of photos of the interior when I'm back in the shop on Monday. The interior of the truck is in near perfect condition and everything works as it should. I'll also try to get some better shots of a few other things to show that stuff a little better than the dusty/rainy photos I took quickly last week.

  • I don't currently have total length, width, or height as it currently sits but will get those dimensions asap.

  • How did I come up with my asking price?
    • Vehicle Equipment: I've never been one that believed if you put 60K into a truck that you get that same 60K back out. I've been in this business over a decade and understand it just doesn't work that way. And while it was a demo truck for our company with very low mileage and wear and tear (say compared to a personal rig) it still has some depreciation.

    • The Vehicle: I generally stick close to blue book value of vehicles when I sell them. That truck in good condition, with only 40k miles, has a price range of $47-50k in the Denver area. So lets just say I want 49K for the truck if it were stock. Once I establish that base price I move on to the vehicle equipment and what I think the depreciated value of the equipment would be.

    • I encourage you to do your own research but can assure you that when you do you'll find that there is approx 60K of equipment added to that truck from the AEV package to the PCOR to the Tent and all the other Vehicle Equipment.

    • Our Asking Price: If we allow for 40-50% depreciation for all the equipment on the truck that puts us in that 80K asking price range and how we landed on that. We also feel like that level of depreciation is more than fair considering the condition. So in other words, I am asking the book value of the truck + 1/2 of the value of added vehicle equipment = my sales price.

    • I am open to offers and conversation about the vehicle. If someone felt it was worth a different price based on another set of factors they should be prepared to explain that to me. I'm always down to have a conversation and you might even persuade me to change my mind. Just be prepared to explain why you're price is more fiar than mine for me to become a believer.

S-Pod Flat Screen Switch Display Mounted to RAM mount above vehicles main UConnect screen.

2 Additional RAM mounts in center console area. I’ve used them for phone and tablet

Also upgraded the 12v outlet in bottom part of the open console (below ram mounts) with a dual usb outlet from Blue Sea. So if you have a phone and tablet plugged in at the same time you don’t have cords running everywhere and is super tidy.

I'm always down to have a conversation and you might even persuade me to change my mind. Just be prepared to explain why you're price is more fiar than mine for me to become a believer.

I am about to make 2 posts;
1) to relay some questions interested parties have asked that I think others will also appreciate the answers.

2) to talk a little more about the accident and the additional depreciation created by that.

This post will be focused on the latter.

I had a great conversation with an interested party that inquired about the accident being accounted for in my asking price. It got me thinking and started doing some additional research, asked around, and ultimately found that I needed to go a little deeper when it comes to the vehicles value. I should have done this in the first place but am circling back bc I think its fair and transparent.

What I did to account for that accident (and its additional depreciation) was use "good" condition in the KBB valuation rather than "very good". But there is a more concrete way to go about it. The reality is that, that vehicle is in great shape, gets polished, stored indoors, has a ceramic coating, perfect interior, blah, blah blah. So she's pretty nice!

But in order to get this more dialed based on the history as well as condition, I took the advice of an insurance adjuster and how an insurance company would look at the past damages and then add a depreciation multiplier to lower the value.

Based upon the information I could get, the depreciation multiplier for an accident like that should be in the 7-10% range. Which to me is insane bc all it takes is to hit an Elk and your insurance company is saying your new value is worth 10% less than market. But hey, I don't make the rules and just trying to report on my findings. So to recap this means that you'd depreciate that value by an additional 7-10%. I'm choosing the high end of the scale at 10% bc I like round numbers and am not going to beat around the bush for a couple percent so to speak.

So lets figure this out; since I know I'm going to now depreciate beyond KBB I'm going to use the actual condition of the vehicle which is very good instead of just good. That new KBB value is 47,701-52,290. I'm choosing the high end of that scale bc of the condition of the truck and the excellent quality build that was completed. 10% of 52K is 5,200. That means that 52,000 - 5,200 = 46,800 for the new base price of the vehicle itself.

From there I go on to the value of the equipment and that is the same as my previous explanations. Lets use 30K as the 50% value of added equipment; so 30,000 + 46, 800 = 76, 800. Since I like round numbers I'm just going to go to 75K and say I'm pretty firm at that number - not unwilling to negotiate but also feel like this is a win for everyone.

Really hope this helps!

NEW PRICE: $75,000

2nd Post - Related to General Questions I've been Asked Since the Last Time I Posted
  1. Truck in Denver? - Yes. Stored indoors at our shop about 10 minutes from Denver International Airport.

  2. All the bugs been worked out? Yes. No unknowns about the vehicle. I drove it home last week and went 75mph the entire time. Ha. But seriously, I am amazed at what nice trucks the new Ram cummins TD have become.

  3. Been used as intended? Yes. I drove it from Sarasota, FL to Denver, CO just this past 4th of July and it worked flawlessly. I still find that each person typically dials-in a rig to their specific routine of traveling over time, but no projects half finished or anything weird like that. In fact in our going thru everything carefully to get it ready to sell we found that the spod was powering intermittently, and decided to warranty-out the unit so it would be perfect for the next person. While I can't guarantee the future of this vehicle I can say there are zero surprises as of today and expect it to be a champion for years to come.

  4. Tow-Hitch? Guessing rear winch in place for hitch? The truck does not currently have a tow hitch but one can be installed pretty easily. The PCOR winch cradle goes in the spot of the factory hitch, so that was removed. There are a lot of aftermarket options, such as Curt. We even tried one of their options but once we had it on the truck we realized that the model number we ordered dropped the tow hitch below the winch cradle several inches and wanted one that only dropped about an inch - so it didn't take away from the ground clearance as much. So we took it off and just didn't follow up with them to find the exact model bc it wasn't a huge priority at the time. But the guys at Exploration Outfitters in Oklahoma (who import the PCOR products) have one on their truck, which is almost the same build-out as mine. With enough planning we can install one for the new buyer but will need to order those parts and will definitely need to charge for that labor.

  5. Was accident taken into account with KBB? Please see post prior to this.

  6. Are seats cloth? Yes. Heated. For those that know the Ram packages, this truck is a "loaded" Big Horn. Or think of it as a Laramie with cloth seats. I kind of think its the best of both worlds bc the dash isn't fancy leather and the trim is brushed aluminum rather than chrome...but has everything else like the nice center console, u-connect, navigation, etc, etc.

  7. $60k in upgrades on the truck now or is it the whole build with all the rear changes and damage repair? I'll get you started with my own list but you really ought to do some of your own research. I'm confident that once you do you'll realize the parts prices are realistic and then there are gobs and gobs of labor we're not accounting for on top of that.

Real quick on replacement parts costs (keep in mind this does not include any labor costs and is parts only):
    • 35K for PCOR tray and canopy package
    • 5K for Alu-Cab tent and load bars
    • Just over 9K in AEV parts to create the Prospector package; hood, suspension, wheels, snorkel and pre-filter, bumper, rear diff cover.
    • ADS shocks approx 1500.
    • Warn front winch approx 2500
    • Warn rear winch approx 1250
    • Vision X light bar approx 1700
    • Amp Research Steps approx 1000
    • Rear ARB Locker approx 1250 (not including the compressor)
    • Then there is a long list of all the other stuff like the Rhino Pioneer roof rack, roof rack accessories such as the maxtrax mounts w/ 2 pair of maxtrax, fold-able aerial antenna mount for weboost, alu-boxes, and then all sorts of other gear from the hot-water system, both compressors, spod w/ touch screen control, throttle sensitivity booster, tires, custom rear leaf springs, propane tank holder and tank, and bunches of other misc accessories that are not included in this big picture list. Not to mention labor costs to take said parts and create a truck out of them. But you see the direction this is going as for the bottom line.
    • I encourage people to do their own research but can assure you that when you do you'll realize very quickly where that 60K figure came from.
  8. Title and Vin? I will provide the VIN upon request. The title is clear/clean - IE it is not a salvage title.

  9. Age of Equipment? PCOR package, tent, roof rack + related accessories, front bumper, ads shocks, and hood are about 1.5 years old. The remainder of the prospector package is about 5 years old - the snorkel, suspension (springs), wheels, and diff cover.

I figured this was worth mentioning as it came up in conversation with an interested party today.

If someone prefers, I will accept up to $25,000 on a credit card since this is a business transaction to purchase one of our company vehicles. The remainder would need to be cashier check, wire/ach, or cash.
