2018 Sequoia TRD Sport on 37s

The time has come to sell my Sequoia project. Some of you may be familiar with it if you follow my IG, Steelman_Built. I’m not a dealer but rather a builder that enjoys buying, building and selling clean, low mileage rigs to put my spin on. I’ve built a few Sequoia’s now including a 2008 that we converted to a 2014+ Tundra TRD Pro front clip along with a full overland built that made a few waves on Bring a Trailer in 2019. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2008-toyota-sequoia/

With the 2018+ facelift on the Sequoia I decided to build another one and keep the Sequoia front end this time. I think the new LED headlight styling looks very nice. A spotless one owner was traded in at a Ford dealership in Raleigh, NC that had ~38k on it.

She arrived at my place on Oct 1st 2020 in all her oem glory and then the build commenced with the goal of an overland style rig that could fit up to 37” tires and still haul around a family of 7 in comfort. See the results and details below.

I used an oem switch panel from a Platinum Sequoia with oem style amber push button switches from Air on Board.

The roof light bar is not currently wired up. I have the two switches in place for it and the harnesses that will all go with the truck. There is a 3rd “Rear Lights” switch mounted as well that’s not wired. I ordered BajaDesigns s2 pods to mount on the rear of the rack back in January but they are still on back order!

I need to win Lotto! This is exactly the rig I have been dreaming about to pull my trailer with. The T4R I own is set up fine, but those extra horses and torque sure would come in handy in the mountains.
