Greetings fellow expo folks,

I was searching for a good, accessible spot to mount my blue sea fuse box on my new to me 06 xterra. While poking around, I came across this spot on the drivers side kick panel. I believe this is a bare spot on many second gen xterras and frontiers.

I made a bracket out of aluminum with holes to match the factory stud locations and the fuse box mounting holes, mounted up the fuse box and bolted it on.

Next up will be running power and ground from my battery, along with a circuit breaker.

I made six extra brackets as well, PM me if you're interested.

I mounted mine right in the back right engine bay. Shortest distance to the battery and it is pretty much wasted space. image.jpg

I have two. Well, technically just one. But I have two aux fuse boxes.

There is one Blue Sea fuse block behind the battery, like what Mo4130 has. That one gathers power directly from the battery and sends power directly to my accessory relays. It also has a power wire that runs into the cab and powers my internal power distribution block. The distribution block sends power through some fuses, then off to my switches.

I like those setups!!! I can understand wanting a nice short run to the battery, but I really like having this fuse box mounted internally.

When I can afford a nice sealed system, it will go under hood.
