Have you thought about upgrading your tires to a taller size? I read many posts about replacing stock tires with 33" ones, and I thought it would be interesting and perhaps useful to some to actually show a good comparison.
What we have on your left is an FJ40 Land Cruiser with 33x9.5x15s next to an FJ40 with 31x10.5x15s. Both sets of tires are BF Goodrich ATs. Notice the difference in the ground clearance and determine whether or not that bit of height difference will matter to you. The FJ40 Land Cruiser on the left has 3.5" anti-inversion shackles in the rear and 2.5" shackles in the front. The FJ40 on the right with 31s has the stock shackles. With 33" tires and uncut fender wells, you need a small amount of lift so the rear tires won't scrape when fully compressed or "stuffed."
We noticed and appreciated the better highway cruising speed at a lower RPM, and a definite improvement off road with 33" tires. You wouldn't believe where a "stock" rig with 33's can go! (A winch and LSD in the rear can't hurt either)
