I just got an email today saying that my tires and wheels that I left at Chip's Tires in Moab one-and-a-half years ago are still there for sale. Its 5 tires on wheels, and one is brand new (spare wheel (but this is a Cooper STT)). The 4 other have about 14 mm of thread left (a little more than 1/2 inch). The wheels have a -44 (or was it -48) mm offset. Builds nicely! Fits most Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi 4x4s.

And they go cheap! Anyone interested? Send me a pm :)

The bolt pattern on those rims will fit a Montero. What about the center bore? Needs to be at least 108mm to fit the gen I and II Montero models.

The center bore of the Patrol is 112 mm (had to machine out the new wheels I bought at Chip's), so the 4 wheels with the GY MT/Rs are 112. The spare wheel with the Cooper STT has 108mm.

In Europe the Montero is called Pajero, and I know they would fit these.

Yes!

But as I'm now in Africa on my way back to Europe, the pictures I have are from when I left the tires at Chip's about 20 months ago. The last blog post here on the forum with the "old" tires is on Page 7 in my Alaska to Argentina to Africa thread:

Scroll down to find a pic with the old and new tires outside Chip''s Tires in Moab where I replaced them before setting out to Tierra del Fuego. The tires have been stored at Chip's since then.

not a lot of life left in them is there?

No? When I replaced these tires in Moab there were about 14 millimeters of thread left on them. This should be about 2/3 of new. I should think there is 20 to 30 000 kilometers left depending on use. As my plan was to drive longer than that I decided to replace them while still in North America. I've now done 60 000 kilometers (mostly bad roads) on my new Mud Terrains, and I have about 10 millimeters left of the thread.

The tires are not new of course (except the spare wheel (0 kms)), but should still be good for quite a few kilometers. And I will sell them cheap! :)

Bump!

I still haven't heard from Jeff at Chip's Tires in Moab, so I believe the Wheels are still there and for sale. The price is down even further... Send me an offer!
