3rd Gen 4Runner - bumper question

Hey guys, quick question. I have a 1997 4Runner 2.7 with 5spd/4x4. I'm thinking about putting an ARB up front, and was just curious if the extra weight/shape of the bumper would impact my MPG/driving dynamic at all. It's a great little vehicle, and I love that it gets 22mpg on the road, so I want to keep that up. Also, how hard is it to mount one?

I wouldn't think an ARB bumper would have much if any impact on your MPG's. However, it may cause your front end to droop a little. Are you lifted?

For reference, I drive a 99 4runner with 2.7 and 5spd. I installed an Addicted Offroad plate front bumper, (which I believe is heavier than the ARB), and a Warn M8000s winch and didn't notice any decrease in my MPG's.

I hope that helps a little.

Good luck

I believe you must make some modifications that may entail welding in order to make it fit. My suggestion is to search it on the 4runner website. If you want to upgrade your front end without lifting, I recommend the Moog replacement coils with performance shocks. They've made a noticeable improvement for me, without an ARB bumper.

toyotapartsdeal.com is a good pace to find OEM replacement parts though I'm unsure if they will deliver to Spain...
