4 door Bronco = Centurion

Hey all I still have yet to get an actual overland rig, but am happy nonetheless with my Oldsmobile! At any rate as I was daydreaming about what rig to buy I was looking at Bronco's on ebay and came across a four door bronco based on the F-350 platform. It is called the Centurion, and F-250, I even believe theres a four door 1/4 ton option. The C-350 as it is called can come with a 7.3 Diesel, D60, im sure a Sterling 10.5 rear and a removable top! I don't need anything that big right now but thought I would share for anyone who does require a fullsize unique rig with a removable top! More info can be had on: www.fourdoorbronco.com

Very, uhh... unique. I'm not a big fan, the body styles dont graft together very nicely in my opinion. Cool idea though. If I had to have something that big, I think I would rather have a f-250 or 350, 7.3L and a nice shell or a E-350 w/4x4.

There are actually quite a few of these running around in my neck of the woods. A friend of mine has one--they are pretty neat imo.

For those interested in these (I think they are AWESOME!) there is a VERY clean one for sale at a dealer in Spokane WA.

i saw one of these at school, its only been in the parking lot 2 or 3 times, but i just thought it was a one off custom and its kinda beat too so thats why i thought maybe some one just through something together one day, does look kinda awkward in person though, you think its a truck until you realize the bed is connected to the cab, but yea if your gonna use it why not just have a quad cab f350 with a cap, nearly the same thing, just wouldn't have bed access when going down the road

Back when Ford refused to make a 4-door Bronco similar to the Chevy Suburban, a few independent companies made the hybrids. Other Bronco owners called those things Bronco-'Burbans.

Typically the 2wd versions were called "Metropolitans" and the 4WD versions were called "Centurions". A friend had a 2wd, used it to pull his Torino Drag Racer around. That 460 got 10 mpg, uphill with a headwind, downhill with a tailwind, flat and level with no wind.

Even though the OJB vintage tops can be removed I can tell you from experience that it's not a great idea. We had to resort to ratchet straps to get it to align again.

Hmmm, strange. The last one we had, we actually had 2 different tops. Switched them depending on the climate, or left them off altogether. Never had a problem getting them aligned again. Might have more to do with how its stored? Dont know.

Anyway, yes, been keeping an eye out for a Centurion for a LONG time. Either that, or another Bronco.....

The 7.3 would be the one to get. Many of them came with the 460 V8 which never met a filling station it could resist.

I believe that Centurion was a custom builder back in the day. I have a 92 F350 crewcab long box that was "built" (read: molested) by them. I thank the previous owner for removing the horrible stripe package and wood/velour front seats. All that was left for me to take out was the wooden overhead console like in the ebay truck. They also built a six door F350. And yes, the 460 is a thirsty beast. I just put 11,000 miles on mine in a single road trip around the southwest and mexico. That was 1,100 gallons of fun! The fuel for the trip cost as much as the truck!:sombrero:
