Doing a bit of service work and noticed black soot around exhaust manifold. Bugger new gasket needed.
Then I noticed the crack and the closer I looked the less I liked what I saw.
Now I need to find another one and replace it before the weekend.
Just wondering if anybody has put extractors on one of these engines?

Yes it is cracked but if you are only using it for a weekend I wouldn't touch it and it will leak some but get you through the weekend. If you wanted too you could possibly wrap it with an exhaust bandage as a temporary fix.
Never heard of extractors for a Canter engine but not saying they aren't out there.

Now is the time to Turbo it, put your money that way.

Dan.

Aussie Iron yes I was thinking about a temporary fix for the next couple of weeks, and you are right about good time to fit turbo.
Will look for a seconhand one tomorrow and maybe practice with the tig and some pipe.
