4D34T replacement cylinder liners - sourcing advice?

2001 FG 250k miles, got broken rings on cyl3 and am shopping liner/piston/ring kits to get best return on the repair effort rather than just putting in new rings and hoping for the best. All cyl measurements still seem to spec but still need to measure pistons. Possible cause some excess carbon from leaking turbo I'm guessing.

Cost of replacement sleeves/liners varies wildly between Mitsubishi, Ebay, Ali... $290 from Guangzhou or $2,200 from Mitsubishi and everything in-between from India, Dubai and elsewhere. Selecting is complicated by the fact that none seems to know exactly what they're selling (degree of finish of liners) incl the 2 nearest US Fuso parts shops offering the Mits OEM kit ME993276 (Denver, Las Vegas). It would be nice to hit on a kit that is fully finished with no honing required but inquiry responses and kit descriptions have been vague and inconclusive. Another possibility is that some are plated s.a. nikasil and are not intended to be honed at all. Curious if anyone's already been down this road and can shed some welcome light or good vendor experiences?
Cheers

Sent with a hint of overthinking the problem at hand.

If it was my engine I would want the liners trued or at least checked for out of round after install. If your liners are in good shape why not keep them? Maybe an oversize piston and resize your current cylinders?

I also agree with @javajoe79 . Particularly if you are considering aftermarket parts. If I were to replace liners I would stick with factory Mitsubishi parts. Would rather have honed original parts than new questionable aftermarket parts.
