4Runner Owner Intro

Hello Adventurers,

I've been lurking on here awhile and thought I should make the introduction. I'm a former Army man who decided on a career change, so I'm back in school knockin' out prereqs for med school. I've always been into the outdoors and off roading, but it wasn't until recently I discovered this thing called "overlanding". I've been hooked on all your threads ever since and my plan is to do my first overland trip once I gain acceptance into med school. I'll probably take off 2 months or so before school begins and roam the entire USA.

My Rig:
-1996 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4 (no locker)
-Anthracite Metallic
-OME Lift / Rough Country Shocks
-Savage Full Skids and Sliders
-Goodyear Duratrac 265/75R16
-Tundra Rotor/Caliper Upgrade

And since everyone loves pics...
Here she is stock after I bought it off a friend who got it at an auction:

That looks like a super clean 3rd gen. I loved them growing up and the well-done ones still turns heads and performs like a new truck!

www.dirtroadtrip.com is all about scratching the itch for off-road adventure one weekend, one vacation at a time.

96-97 4Runners are one of the best looking SUVs ever. Tastefully done!

How do you like the Duratracs?

Agreed! I like the Duratracs alot. Great compromise between tread pattern and road noise. I like that they have aggressive shoulder pattern too, which helps when I deflate. Pretty pricey, but I got $150 rebate from a Discounttire.com deal.
