4x4 Winnebago Lesharo......Hideous Awesomeness

Yes, that is a pretty one.
As you are probably aware the Renault engine/transmission was the weak link. The cabins are great. And a 4x4 one of these would be very cool.
Hummmm, LaSharo wheelbase is 145 inches, 82 inches wide, 11th generation (2004-2008) Ford F150 SuperCab w/ 6.5' bed or Regular cab w/ 8' bed have a 145-inch wheelbase, 79 inches wide. 4.2 L V6 210 hp - 260 lb⋅ft

Yeah, I was hoping the diesel one was mounted to a 90s dodge 4wd pickup frame. An even newer pickup would make a cool swap if you had the time and space!

I shouldn't like this, I shouldn't want it, but I do. Everyone knows the stock Renault chassis and engine was rubbish, but it now rides on a stretched awd safari, with 350 chevy power. I wish they'd left the 4.3, though the 350 if done well should be reliable and easy to fix"

The 4.3 is just a small block with two cylinders knocked off. While it's a good motor, I'll take a 350 all day long. Similar fuel economy and more HP/TQ.

It comes down to size (length). The Renault engine was mounted transverse, so unless the 'replacement engine' is mounted that way (traverse V6s are a popular 2wd swap) the shorter the better (see doghouse photo back a few posts). 210hp is 3-4 times the original HP. But I'm all for someone grafting a LeSharo camper on a new Ford Raptor. =:*O

hi folks, wonder if anyone would like to give your opinion of the white Phasar above??? Do you think the modifications are dangerous or will adversely affect the frame? I love the concept, wonder if it's worth a go?
