Just received an email from SPOT regarding 50% off devices and service.
Not sure if this is comparable to regular pricing, but feel free to move this if it is in the incorrect forum.

The superior functionality(freely able to send texts both ways) of the InReach units is probably severely depressing sales of the Spot messenger products, hence...a slae! Plus: InReach is on the Iridium network, while Spot is on Globalstar.

That's sort of a permanent 'sale' that they always have going on in one form or another. I believe they actually just raised their monthly rates, at least I know they have for the Spot Trace. I've got an InReach for emergencies and a spot trace on our trailer in case of theft - each has their pros and cons.
