60 Owners

After reading KC's partially completed RTT retrieval story I was struck with an idea.

How about a true Overland meeting of just 6X owners? Something sort of like the recent (?) gathering of the Dormobiles. Something to make us dust them off and get them ready to drive some distance. Some destination with an Overland journey to and from it. Toroweep comes to mind, but I'm sure that there are more obscure & scenic destinations. Perhaps somewhere around Austin, NV or Jordan Valley, OR, or......

I'm thinking sometime next Spring or perhaps next Fall if there is far-flung interest.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "No one but 60's", but my emphasis is on 60's. Should some 80's, 25's or random 40's show up, it's all good. They are Land Cruisers after all.

Discuss.

Gives me an excuse to dust off my 60, I havn't driven it more than 50 miles since its maiden voyage home through the SR Swell last spring. I'd be interested.

I think I may be able to swing something. The 62 is close to being ready to go on long trips and should be ready in the Spring. If not, we have the 80 too.

I'd be interested but I don't own a 60 series any more.

I've got the 60 series older brother (FJ55) and the younger brother (HDJ80).

Can I tag along?

Sounds like we need to first determine a destination, and then determine the best-fit time to put this together.
I'm willing to take the lead, but I'll need some help with this.

As I stated in my first post, my emphasis is on 6X's, but I wouldn't exclude anyone who wanted to come out.

I'm about to have a ps pump out of a 60...is that close enough? Otherwise I could put a picture of my old 60 on the dash.... :chowtime:

That picture happens to be in the middle of Alvord Lake a few years ago. Bob

Beautiful. It really captures the essence of self dependent exploration.
