65 FJ40 in Austin

1911

Expedition Leader
Looks to be in decent shape, though it is missing a few things and has some wrong-year parts. A 1965 is pretty basic though, maybe not everyone's cup of tea - ball-and claw front axles (before the adoption of the Birfield), three on the tree, single-stage drum brakes all 'round, two-piece leaky manifold gaskets, two wiper motors, non-adjustable Pitman arm bell crank, etc. A cruiser this old is a better candidate for a restoration than a daily driver or even light wheeling rig, IMO. Yes, you could make it into a nice daily driver or wheeling/camping rig, but for the money you'd spend doing it you'd be better off to buy a later model that already has a four-speed, front discs, fine-spline Birfields, etc.
