I can confirm door locks are a problem .We are in Moscow and have just rebuilt both locks for the third time in 5 months I intend to buy 2 complete sets when i can

Door Catches and Locks: This a Vario/Mercedes specific problem. The door locks and catches do not like heat, cold or dust. They even seem susceptible to altitude! Make sure you know how to repair them they’re going to let you down at some point!

I just reread this bit. Do you mean the front cab door locks? What happened to them?


BTW - It was great to meet you at the OA show. A pity we didn't get more time to compare notes.
