As the title says ,
I have an 88 Éconoline E-250 with 351W & C6 .....

I want to convert it to 4x4 ......
before I start ,may as well ask here what should I look for ....

Ill try to get a complete F-250 with 351W & E4OD ( I was told only one that would do the job ) ......

I want free hubs , solid axles , rear disc brakes would be a nice touch but not a priority ....

It has to fit width wise too !

thanks

Dan ,

I would keep the C6 as overdrive won't be much use on the back roads and trails. The C6 is viewed as a hog for loss of power at the wheel but it's a stout unit.

The process should be about the same I imagine as a solid axle swap on a Ford truck. Google it.

I have a Danna 44HD which would be perfect under your truck....Quigley 4 link...bolt on...replace bushings with polyurethane...I'll let it go cheap to someone who will use it....its in Reno NV...shipping isnt that bad....

been a long time ,

what about a 5.9L 6BT + auto tranny + T/case
I can get a low mileage 4x4 92 cummins Ram 2500 complete .........

I think it could make a good swap ...
