94 Monty starter motor problems

I just got a 94 sr montero for a mountain truck. The starter solenoid went out on me last week. So I went to orileys to get a new starter motor and they only had one from a 95 Monty and said it would work. Is this true? Is it the same amount of teeth ect..?

Yes it should work fine.

Just installed it yesterday and it makes a bad grinding sound, I'm gonna take it off and check the flywheel for damage
