95 Montero what would you do?

Thanks to the great threads posted by all the Montero owners on this sight I purchased one this weekend. 1995 SR stock with 166 miles. No service records and no knowledge of the SUV's history. I want to be able to take thi Montero on most trails when needed but i need a efficient daily commuter (i know don't we all lol). What would you do 1st? I have been a jeep guy for years but now... the Montero (in my opinion) is the sleeper to watch for. 1st is MPG... top 5 suv in the world... locking front and back diff's & seats 7...WOW.
So how can i increase power and MPG?
Best tire for both on and off road?
What After market product would you recommend as a "must have" 7 why
