Hey guys,
I'm a certified Expo lurker and back in March I bought a 96 e350 2wd that I plan on eventually living out of for the better part of a year while I explore as many North American mountain bike trails and snowboard spots before returning to the square life. Originally I planned on having a local guy who builds rock crawlers do the 4x4 swap but he's moving his shop and is unable to take on a whole lot of new work. After calling everyone I know to see if anyone would have an interest in the job locally I've come to the decision that it's got to be done by myself with the help (a lot) from some close friends. I've spoken with Chris from UJoint and watched the videos and although I have somewhat limited experience in a job of this size I've got the will to get it done and get my *** on the road.
My friends and I are all under 30 and have helped each other a lot over the years starting with bicycles, then jeeps, dirtbikes, motorcycles... You name it- we've had it as a hobby at one point or another. I came up with the idea of quitting my job next year for my 30th birthday and they couldn't be happier to assist with my madness but I'm sure they'll be expecting some free rides...
So here's what I'm starting with- it's a 96 e350 with a Sterling 10.5 installed in the rear and a Dana 50 sitting in the cargo area. This was an old Philadelphia Paddy wagon and has character like no other vehicle on the road. Every time I think about just selling it and hitting the road a little sooner all I have to do is look outside and the ideas just come alive.
First order of business is to get this Dana 50 ready to go, anyone in the Cleveland, OH area that wants to lend a hand let me know!
