98 LC 100 throttle issues

I have a chance to buy a 1998 LC from my brother in law. I love toyotas and can get this truck for $5500. New computer, seat covers etc. body is in great shape as is the rest of the interior. 133,000 miles.

Issue is the typical throttle problem. Foot to the floor but no rev. Starts and idles awesome. I'm thinking its just the $60 throttle position sensor. Could be the $1200 throttle body but that's mechanical and could probably be cleaned and fixed.

Any one with this problem and how they solved it?

Thanks guys

Does it throw a code? That is the easiest way to know for sure. Otherwise, I'd agree with the guys above- TPS. Pretty easy fix. Clean the throttle body up and clean the MAF while you're in there.

Throttle Pedal Position Sensor. Just did this on my 01 LX470 two weeks ago. see if you can get the code pulled.
