A little late on the 2013 trip report, but eh, what's a guy to do??
This below the dam, or on the upper?
Below the dam, A-section and part of the B-section.
Only took a few pics this year, it was more about being there enjoying the moment and absorbing it all, rather than trying to document anything and everything. Lots of fish caught, stories told, poker hands played, and beer and spirits drank. Strengthened relationships with friends is what was the best part, and there is no way to capture that in words or pics.
So here is a few that I did take...
It was very cold, mid-teens the whole time. This is a boat pull-out camp spot high above the river with Grasshopper Island down the river in the distance. You can see one of our buddies fishing the right hand side of the river in the distance. As we waited for him, we started a fire to warm up, it was one of the best campfires I have ever experienced, especially after a cold day on the river.
Late in the afternoon after the Sun has gone down behind the mountains. It was freezing by then, but the fishing was hot and we found it hard to pull ourselves away from the water...
A couple shots overlooking Flaming Gorge Reservoir, one pano and one zoomed in from the same spot.
All in all, it was another great trip. After doing this trip for the last 10 years or so, it never gets old. I can't wait for next year.
