A lesson learned....Stay away from Platinum Motorsports in KY

Can't agree Pirate, my 1995 had 440,000 kms on it, only failed me once, starter, and I could have bump started it as it was a 5 speed at the time, later swapped in a ZF auto box. The only time it had issues, they were my fault, mainly too aggressive offroad. That said, I did pull the ABS fuse right near the beginning of my ownership but never had to replace head gaskets, etc. Very reliable vehicle.

What does this have to do with the thread you posted it in? Sounds like you somehow read the email, then got confused and posted a response to different thread topic ;)

I'm a firm believer in contacting the business first to get it worked out. I don't understand the whole logic of going nuclear on the 'net first. That doesn't make anyone look good. Usually doesn't fix the issue either as what you get is one version of a story.

Op wasn't anywhere near the vicinity of going nuclear. He'd be nuclear dumb if he continues to do business with this shady shop. Get far away. Cut your losses but the fact that you want a Land Rover product makes me think you like to punish yourself for pleasure. ;). No abs with all those kids in tow? Highly questionable.

In all seriousness, good luck and be safe.

I'll reply with quotes this time because it appears the comment I was referencing has been deleted. It questioned why the original poster would buy a D1 to handle safe travel for his family. You read the thread after I had responded to Pirate's comment and after someone obviously deleted it. I can say I might have made a mistake like that before coffee but I'd already had two cups yesterday :)

Ya, I decided I was being harsh and I don't like to leave negativity out there. Now back to my :coffeedrink:

I'm going to go ahead and say regardless of people's personal opinions, I'm going to go ahead and drop this.
Between, work, night school, and 3 kids I just don't have the energy for this. I'll take care of my Disco and eventually all will be well.
I apologize for causing such a fuss but, at the time I was just really irritated and upset about the whole situation. As time has past and all the smoke as started to clear, I realize I can't put any part of my life on hold to deal with this anymore.
I appreciate the support and the criticism. I still love Land Rover and I hope this hasn't given any of you folks a poor view of me and I hope we bump into each other while out exploring and can have a good conversation maybe even make a few friendships.
