A noooobie posting some pics!

Hi Everybody!

My names Jeff and Im from the state of Washington. Ive been lurking for some time on here and finally decided to join the ExPo family.

I would like to say first off that this site is an amazing place. Lots off very useful information. Lots of good people on here and has really helped me in creating my couple trucks for daily and overlanding use.

Id like to share a few pics with you of my trucks in their current state.

Heres a shot of them together. My 1997 Toyota Tacoma and my 1988 Pickup:wings:

Sorry for all the poser shots in my back yard. Need to dig up some camping action shots.

I don't have much of a build thread I could post for either of them for now. Im going to try and post a general thread of how the blue 88 came to be and see what I can come up with for the taco.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my post everyone and look forward to posting many more.

Welcome to the forum! Good too see another WA member on here. Good looking rigs too. How do you like your wildernest? I've always wondered about putting one on my Taco.

Hey thanks for the welcome! I really like the wildernest. Its built very solid and sturdy. I looked for 2 years to find a good one and ended up finding this one in Portland Oregon. Drove down and looked at it and it was in great shape except for the passenger side hinges were a bit rusty but nothing bad at all. I would recommend one to anyone. Only reason why I bought the second tent. (ARB) was I was wanting to do two separate platforms for different purposes.

They are both great.

Sweet setup and welcome. I like the tent setups, super nice sleeping setup :). No worries about backyard shots we all love Pics of any kinda :wings:

Anything special done to them besides the tents and bumper? Great platform for some camping rigs.

On the Wildernest, at the peak, there are what looks like bags hanging off both ends of the tent. What are they?

Those are windows. Those models of Wildernests were built by Lowe Alpine, the outdoor gear maker. The windows are similar to 4-season mountain tents designed for gnarly weather. The design allows you to have open windows, more like vents really, without rain or snow getting in.

Are you doing any reinforcement of the camper shells to support the weight of the RTT's? I'm considering mounting a tent on my topper but I'm worried about the weight of the tent + a couple adults up there.

As already answered, yes those are vented windows. I prefer the look of the mountain tents but these look and perform just fine.

@Box Rocket

At this time I dont really have much reinforcement for the RTT. It doesnt seem to move and appears to be very sturdy, but I will have to agree that it does need to be reinforced. The canopy isnt the strongest itself.

And I love you tacoma build thread by the way!!! Nice work!!!!:wings:
