Boy oh boy are things getting weird for shopping in the new age of broken supply chains.

I just was trying to get on the FoMoCo webpage to look at possible builds and got this as the first thing that popped up, and it blocked off the webpage.

And holy cow!, the truly strange thing was I could Not Go Further into the Ford webpage without first clicking on the “Acknowledge” button!

Wow, Ford is being crazy careful and demanding here to not let us even look at vehicle choices without making an admission that, Yes dammit I do understand that you might not have what I wanted!!!

I’m trying to figure out just what problem it is that Ford is trying to fix by requiring web page Looky Lou’s to acknowledge the supply chain problems.

You’d have to be living under a rock to not have heard of the ubiquitous supply chain problems plaguing businesses today.

What exactly do you think is being solved or avoided here? ?

I’ve seen that on Land Rover and I think Volvo for several months, usually just once you start playing with the configurations though.

Ram and jeep Canada websites have something similar and I can't even get around it using Chrome on my mobile. I haven't tried desktop yet.

Ram configurator is glitchy. Try and build a '22 Sport.....

Ford Canada doesn't even have the 2022 build and price up for their best selling model, the F150.

The F150 still shows up as a 2021... I wonder at this point if they are just going to skip the 2022 configurator and wait till the 2023's are released.

We bought our 2019 F150 with the features we could afford at the time, with an eye on upgrading to a better model with 4wd etc around 2-3 years later...lol
Now im sitting here trying to figure out how to make our vehicle as offroad capable as possible.

When I was a kid my Dad had a beat-up VW bug. He had big re-tread deep lug snow tires on the back. The thing would go anywhere! 4x4 is nice to have, but you can do 90% with 2-wheel drive. Sometimes 2-wheel drive is better , you usually stop before you get stuck :)

Not surprised. I know the 360 camera packages are being omitted from certain F150's as of a couple weeks ago. I think same thing for active park assist and adaptive steering.

My order just squeaked through before these changes. And on top of that Ford bumped up the prices of the F150's on Feb 15 then again April 15. Even though they are deconcentrating them.....

You would think. But on the F150 forum I am on, people seem to be shocked and outraged their orders are taking a while to be filled.

I can only imagine what the people answering the phones / chat / email at Ford customer service have to deal with.

Makes me wonder if we will see a return to yesteryear by mid 2023.
Trying to decide if I can game selling my 2014 for a still inflated price at the end of trailer season 2022 and then hold off until the hopeful return of employee pricing/large MSRP discounts and selection in spring/summer 23.

Or just accept the fact I'm driving the 14 until 2035.
