Adding AFS Headlights to an LR4

So, I find myself in the position of needing to replace one of the headlights on my LR4.

My truck did not come with the AFS option from the factory, so my questions are the following:

Can I install an AFS headlight in place of my defective non-AFS headlight and expect it to work normally?

If I install two replacement AFS headlights, and then enable the AFS function using my IID tool, will the AFS then function?

I found a good price on a replacement headlight unit, but it is an AFS unit, so I'm wondering if it will work, or if I should keep looking until I find a non-AFS unit, or alternatively, shell out for 2 AFS units, and then enable the feature on the vehicle.

Thanks for any help.

Are you positive you can activate it through the iiD tool? I've thought about doing something similar to mine, but never saw anyone who had done the swap before.

I'll take your LR4 lights for my LR3 when you go AFS :Wow1: Since we do not get AFS love in our old LR3's...hahaha

I am positive that it is a selection available under the CCF editor function of the IID tool. It is selectable between fitted/not fitted.

I have seen mention on another forum of an AFS "control module" on pre-2009 vehicles. That's why I am asking. I can't find any mention of that module on post-2009 vehicles. So I am wondering if adding the AFS feature on a post-2009 is as simple as dropping in AFS equipped headlights and telling the vehicle through the IID tool that they are now onboard.

From what I remember you need to add a relay for the headlamps or else your headlamps will cut on and off. I'm assuming you are talking about switching from halogen.
