Adjustable height RTT setup..

...on the m416 is what I want.

Here is what I'm thinking...use two of these (1 front, 1 rear):

...thinking mount them upside down on the trailer lid and some sort of track on the bottom of the rtt.

curious, if anyone sees any issues with this?

also, think I will pick one up and actually use it as intended on the rear of the trailer.

I assume your interested in being able to level the tent via the jacks? Interesting idea and I don't see why it couldn't work. The track mount interface on the bottom of the tent could be hard to work out and still keep a low profile and rattle free fit. I've personally found it pretty easy to level my trailer & RTT. Worst case is I stack a couple of rocks and do some 'leveling'. If leveling had presented itself as a major issue I think I would be more inclined to do two additional jacks on the back corners, they could be installed on the common jack 'hubs' so they are not constantly in harms way.

Yeah, I think farm implement jacks are readily available, maybe cheaper, and definitely better than those. They could easily be welded into vertical supports for a tent frame.

I think I'd mount the track on the trailer lid, then mount these right side up and mount the RTT to the top of it, unless I'm missing something, that seems like the simpler method to me.

The other thing you have to worry about is that with 4 support points, you can seriously twist the tent. With just 3 points, you can't.
