In case you're wondering, it's a 1974 Range Rover ex-ambulance converted by a company in Cheshire, England called Herbert Lomas Ltd. It now has a 200 Tdi engine and 5-speed box from a Discovery, and on the way back from the Allrad Show in Bad Kissingen, Germany it clocked 97 mph on the motorway!!! :wings:

Wanted: German language speakers at Adventure Overland Show 2015

Attending this year's Adventure Overland Show at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse (26-27 Sept 2015) will be a number of German traders, therefore if you are an English/German speaker who is prepared to help out now and again on their trade stands, then a free weekend awaits!

And before somebody asks ... merely being able to say "Ein bier bitte" does not qualify as speaking German!!!

Okay, here's some news that will please forum members - why not get a few together and pop over to Germany in October?

Over a 2 week period you could attend Adventure Overland Show, Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse (26-27 Sept 2015) as part of an "Expedition Portal" Display Stand (I've always said the forum is welcome to have a free stand at the show, this could be the year to do it if enough members are up for it - totally up to you!)

... then explore the delights of Northern France, Belgium, Holland or Germany for 3 or 4 days

... then attend Adventure Northside, Vethem 58, near Walsrode, Northwest Germany (2-4 Oct 2015) with another " Expedition Portal " display - this would be free entry for all members who previously attended Stratford Racecourse!

In a nutshell, you only pay for one show! The following Press Release explains:-

BOGOF to overland shows in England and Germany!

Featuring 4x4 campervans, adventure bikes, expedition trucks and bushcraft/survival, Western Europe will play host to two major overland exhibitions in 2015 ... "Adventure Overland Show" at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse, England (26-27 September 2015) and its sister event "Adventure Northside", Vethem 58, near Walsrode, Northwest Germany (2-4 October 2015).

Held late summer over consecutive weekends, visitors booking into either event will automatically receive free entry to the second event. This BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) offer includes admission and camping, thus making attendance of both events over a two week period a lot kinder on the pocket!

The same scheme applies to traders from Central Europe, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe who likewise can attend both shows for the price of one. This together with language translators to assist wherever necessary will enable companies to explore new markets.
