Air-Zenith

I just picked up at an estate auction an Air-Zenith compressor for $75 new in the box. According to the widow, her husband just bought the compressor 5 weeks ago. Heck, the warranty card is still in the box.

Does anyone have experience with the Air-Zenith compressor? I was on their web site and am impressed with the numbers. I do know that a lot of people with bouncy cars like this compressor because of it gives fast recovery speeds.

Based on the price you paid, I think you got one heck of a deal! :luxhello:

No personal experience, but I believe it has a good reputation with the lowrider crowd. If I recall correctly, a friend of mine was planning on using a A-Z for air suspension on his Jetta. He was saying the system was so fast it could raise the car two inches in ~ 1 second while moving - perfect for that last second speed bump!

For an off-road application, make sure that your mounting location is appropriate to it's ability to handle dust and water. It may say moisture resistant, but do a bit of research on the specific model first to ensure it's properly protected. Then with the correct plumbing you should have a really decent compressor!

Congrats!

Thanks, I am very happy with the find, especially after reading the specs on the compressor.

It is fast, I just hooked it up to my existing 2.5 gal tank and it took it less than 3 mins to get it up to 150psi. The unit came with the extra cooling fan that mounts on the top of the compressor head so it stays pretty cool when running all the time. I am going to try removing my wheels with the system to see how it handles air tools.

Already have that planed. I am building a bed box for my taco that will have a sealed compartment. It is going to be a similar setup that I currently have in my Disco which works very well.

NV... the more I think about it - the more that compressor just doesn't work for your application. You also paid way too much. But I'll help you out and take the hit for you. Pack it up and send it over. It would work so much better in my truck. ;)
