Alternative to camper jacks and brackets?

Hi all!

Working up my FWC Fleet camper order and not sure I want to spend $700 on 4 mechanical camper jacks with brackets. Do folks have luck taking the camper on and off with 2 jack stands and setting camper on sawhorses? This would also cut out the weight of the jack brackets.
Thanks

I must not be understanding what you mean--how do you lift the camper out of the pickup (or raise it up to clear the bed when putting it on) with 2 jack stands?

CR Brophy Machine Works still makes the portable camper (cable) jacks.

We used to order the jacks that were rated for 3000 lbs.

Make sure to get the 12" longer poles if you do end up using something like this for your camper.

Hope this helps.

I used the two-stand-system- for years on my FWC (Grandby) with great success.
I was even able to do it one-man, but of course it took much longer.
I lowered my onto a wheeled low platform (2 layers of 3/4 ply and 5" casters) so I could move it around and it was more stable near the ground.
As others have said, make sure to get long enough poles and once you get the C.G. figured out a mark on the outside for alignment make it easier.
