With these ambulance having so many wires would I just rim out all these circut boards, relay, and junk ?

I just want basic wiring such as head lights and stuff as for the outside led off road lights I can re wire that in and also wire in the led interior light?

Each ambo is wired somewhat differently. On mine I got rid of all the circuits I didn't need, kept the one that had a purpose and re-use some of the components for new gears.

I've kept the HD solenoid, battery charger + isolator and the inverter since they are well built and useful.

You can check what I did in my build although I'm not done yet. It should still give you an idea of what's involved.

Good luck!

Yep they are all different but usually well marked and mostly isolated from the "normal" electrical. I would suggest that you follow the previous posters lead and work out what you need where before stripping it out.

I didn't modify any of the wiring on my last ambo. But this one will be different, I need to free up some space for the solar controllers and 110 and 240 panels. this panel is on the outside of my rig and is at least 3' x 3'.

yea I will be getting mine this weekend its a 1989 E350 or E450 it has the 7.3 diesel.

Got to figure out how to put a water tank, tankless water heater, 2 propane tanks, solar panels and generator, as for cooking I am going to use a gas/wood drill to bbq. I will keep browsing the side and get ideas.

Man! That's a lot of wiring! But you gotta give it to them, it's clean.

I removed some of the wiring, but left the guts in place in the main control panel. It seemed that every time I removed a wire from one item it affected another needed item. Since I am on a time crunch to get a home built for a February SA departure date, I elected to not open too big of a can of worms. But I bet I could strip 100lbs of copper out of that thing if i really wanted to. I pretty much re-used most abandoned circuits for something else anyway.

Now, if I could only figure out how to get my stock horn working again...

Wow I removed one trim piece and there was a ton of wires! I am thinking this ambulance has less wires than most of the other one because it's older?
