Ambulance parts wanted...

Guy contacted me locally, he is looking for shelves for his Crestline New Era ambulance.

Has anyone got any shelves from a gutted/converted rig? If they're from a different rig, we may be able to cut them down.

If he's talking about just the shelves, and not the shelving hardward, he could make them pretty easily by taking a flat sheet of aluminum or stainless and bending up the edges. Some 1/4" plexi glass could suffice as well depending on how wide and deep the shelves are. Heck, plywood could work, though it'll be on the heavy side.

He's running a private ambulance so wood is not an option... Local metal shop wants $500+ to make a set. He's hoping to find some used ones.

Welcome to Canadian prices... No way we can get it for $20 a sheet like at Lowes. Last time I got a quote, a 4x8 sheet of checker plate was about $250, and I'm sure prices have doubled in the last 15 years.

Ouch. Maybe have him reach out to Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles? They could surely arrange something for pennies on the dollar....
