Ambulance Structure Questions

I am extremely tall and don't fit into my Minimod well.
I plan to open up the area between the Van and the box (module) to allow my seats to recline and swivel.
Basically, make the opening the size of a typical class C motorhome.
Structurally I don't think the exterior walls are supported from inside, can someone confirm?
Is a sawzall the best tool to use for the job of cutting through the cabinets?

I want to keep the electrical panel and rear AC/Heater blower in place while removing everything below them.

I will try not to move anything electrical during the process.

It almost looks like reclining and swiveling around isn't an option due to the box frame.

Does anyone know if this is the case on a 7.3 Minimod E350?

Not sure about swiveling, but reclining definitely works.
I opened up behind passenger seat at end of summer and seat can recline

Is yours a Minimod? Does the seat completely clear the frame when you recline? Is the seat able to recline push all the way back?

Thanks

Mine is a Horton Mini Mod and with the cabinets behind the passenger seat removed it can just barely fully recline, it rubs against the frame a bit. I also have a swivel base for that seat and it can swivel all the way around, it just takes some finagling to clear both the doghouse and the module frame. This may be true for you too, but I think it would depend on your manufacturer.

I was able to completely remove almost my entire interior without using a sawsall, most of the cabinets are simply screwed to the floor/ceiling/wall and could be removed to check out whats behind them and put back if needed. Again this might be different for you depending on your manufacturer.

Mine is a AEV but I assume that they are pretty similar.

My Bornfree took some work and adjusting of the seats to swivel due to the doghouse.

I want to remove the bottom portions of the cabinets to give me more space while not getting into the electrical

Thanks

CJken,

It looks good...
Did you have to cut into the box frame to get it open like that?
Did you also unscrew most of the cabinets that were in the way?
Is the Driver side the same way?

Thanks
