American rally landcruiser

Technically, you are correct, but building something for a fast multi-day adventure still can fall under that description... despite not being in a sanctioned competition.

I think post #7 explains it well, rich with fail. And there is no rally raid in the US...

The closest to Raid events we get here in the US is desert racing. This Lexus is a glammed up 200 series LC. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/15/this-is-the-coolest-lexus-lx-570-period/

Joe Bacal's LX570 is a sweet rig and I thing the same 'thought' of building a desert truck could go into building a Raid ready setup. I'd network with any of the common desert rig builders with your needs and go from there. On a side note, I was able to spend some 'wrench time' on the LX570 in the 2010 Baja 1000 and serve on 'Chase 12' for his team during the 2011 Baja 1000, really a fun experience to be around the Toyota TRD/Lexus racing programs

What is your budget? I tend to build my vehicles a bit more towards this type than many... I have some background with high performance AWD cars built for daily driving dirt roads along with snow/ice.... when applied to a US 4x4 you get rally raid with technical trail ability.

That is good work with your Tundra and i adore a Corrado. For my use i need to find something soon and i do not need so much custom work as you do. For my work i can order a new car or old car and then it must be improved and the company with my contract will pay for the work order. i do not want a WRC car. They are much fun but I need to work all the time and four doors. i think I will try a 4runner or GX470. I do not want a GX460. What can you do for these?

I am sorry it took me so long to answer you. I was with some pretty Canadian women and they drink a lot of beer with me so it took a long time. You must not be so sad. One is very nice to me. I do not want the WRC car like you. I like a RAID preparation for work not for a race. In my job I have driven a rally every day sometimes. Bring the Subaru and the series 100 which you love to Nigeria and you will see what bad roads does. One car is light and one is heavy. Both will break.

The Landcruiser 200's that compete in Le Dakar are almost stock, so you don't need that much for a rally cruiser (except cash) ...........
