I was thinking about one of these but is the price tag for the ursa worth it when you can just get a rtt? What’s the pro to a ursa over a rtt? I get the point of the one that flips forward because you’re gaining more space.

$7000 to be able to stand up in your parked vehicle doesnt really seem worth it. I can stand up in my ground tent that cost $100. If thats the selling point thats crazy.

Not having to go outside to set up camp for the night is a big bonus. Not having to go outside and back into the vehicle to get something also. A roof top tent is great for camping, but if you are traveling day after day and aren't a total minimalist I can see all kinds of advantages to having your driving storage and sleeping areas connected.

Also the most miserable people I saw in Yellowstone last year had a beautiful red Japanese firetruck with an instagrammy hashtag sticker and a big roof top tent. They crawled out into freezing rain in the morning and spent 15 minutes packing the darn thing up and presumably had to get changed in the cab. And they will still need to stop somewhere and dry out the fabric eventually.

Second, wait no maybe first most miserable were a German couple with a van full of crap they dont need and a roof top tent. They were on a long trip toward South America and hated setting it up so much they were vehicle shopping midjourney.

The biggest advantage of having an Ursa Minor top on my Jeep is that I can haul my canoes on top. Most RTTs cannot accommodate that...
