An introduction and a question

Hopefully those old staples aren’t the hot glue kind.

Those glue coated numbers are ridiculously difficult to yank out.

Unfortunately you often just wind up either busting the tops off of them, or worse tearing up the wood they’ve been shot into because they are damn near unremovable.
Would a soldering iron help?

Youll have to painstakingly pull every one of those staples and replace them. Invest in a pneumatic stapler now haha. Also, when you reinstall the canvas you want to use this glue to seal it. Its readily available on amazon.

Upon closer investigation it appears there are not actually staples there, just the damage left behind from them being shot in and pulled out. I'm going to take that as a win, pulling them out did not sound like good times.
The adhesive is for sealing the canvas to the track? The track to the camper? Or both?

It's like they used a punch and hammered it down to pinch the fabric. There is nothing there and it's not a hole all the way through.
I'd like to take a moment to admire this crackheads work 😂.
I'd like to say this is surprising, but in comparison to the other hack jobbies I've found in this rig this is actually decently clever, at least it accomplished something

Wow, you can literally see that they used a phillips screw driver to hammer it down.

You would put adhesive on both sides of the canvas, so it helps the canvas stick in place as you install it but also seals both sides of the canvas. If you follow the instructions they have you wait a bit after applying the adhesive so it can get tacky. It actually gets strong enough to help hold the canvas in place but still lets you move it around a little. Also if it dries too much you can just add a little and the chemical reaction helps it adhere again. Pretty wild stuff. INSANELY powerful and dangerous chemical odor, make sure you have access to lots of fresh air.
