I would hope that a tent in that price range can withstand a sustained wind of 40mph and gusts in the 50-60mph range. And where out west do you plan on taking that cute suv? There are miles of easy trails in Southern Utah that offer great scenery and camping, still cool enough to enjoy it too.
any other pics of the OZ? Inside too?
Yes I imagine it could take 40mph winds.....
Umm...lets see where I can take my "cute" SUV...I remember seeing a video of Crown Vic tackle and conquer Moab...so that is on the list.
And I believe this is Expo Portal not Pirate 4x4....right? Since when is it cool to label people's rides.
The "cute" SUV has over 400lb/ft of torque and gets over 25mpg and a range over 500 miles. It has the same ground clearance as 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee...actually the same chassis. It has an AWD system. Not sure about you but it is checking a lot of expo boxes.
Also check out MB testing their "cute" SUV in the Namibia desert....that is Africa just in case:sombrero:

Don't get all chaffed there kiddo, I was simply asking what was on your list for western adventures. But if I struck a nerve, I digress. As for the Crown Vic with police package(includes better gearing and full skid plates) on Hell's Revenge, an entertaining video for sure, but he doesn't take it past about the first 1/3 of the trail. But I have seen a stock Isuzu Trooper on that trail as well. I had a 92 G-Wagon when I lived in Germany back in the mid-90's and it was a great platform, had I known then what I do now I would have kept it. Pirate 4x4, yeah right, bunch of neanderthals. I would have loved to be on that MB test team and beat the piss out of those cars, you can see some damage in the photos. And most modern "SUV's" are "cute" and car-like, just a fact. 400lb/ft, impressive I must say. My Jeep only has about 260lb/ft, but I added the last 35 myself. It is a 3rd vehicle and could care less about its MPG. But I do have a car in the garage that weighs 2150lbs and puts down 272lb/ft to the rear wheels, it averages 31mpg. I have actually been to Africa, Zimbabwe to be precise, but thank you for questioning my intelligence.
What was this about again....have a great day!!
hyaena, thanks for posting. I've been eyeballing the RV-5 for sometime but have yet to pull the trigger. Trying to decide between the peaked side panels (as you have chosen) or the std side panels. I'm looking for the quickest set-up but if two more poles isn't a big deal, then maybe I'll go with the peaked.
