I have the regular roof rack with the Thule cross bars its rated at 100lbs. on the side of the factory roof rack. These tents are about 100lbs right? Once I get my fat ******** (185lbs) in there then my little wife is this thing going to snap???

I had the Mombasa mounted to 2 thule bars on my 80 and after one night with the misses in there, they were bent quite a bit and the gutters were slightly tweaked

A couple of things...

You need to consider dynamic laod limits first - can the tent be safely carried? It must be under the mfgr's rated limit.

Then you need to consider a third bar - espacially on vehicles with rain gutters. Third bar will NOT increase the dynamc load limit, but it will spread the load on the gutters. I like to split a piece of 1/4" silcon tubing and slip it over the foot of the gtter-mount tower, then pull the fot to the outer edge of the gutter before tigtening. The object is to minimize pounding on the gutter caulking, which may crack and allow water to seep into the A or B pillars. Enventually you will get interior leaks and rust. Cushion, and apread the load with three cross bars.

If the bottom of the tent flxes (deflects) under occupant load it shouldn't) you need more platform support. Stiifen the platform or add more cross bars.

My 2 cents.

I think you'd be fine on the stock setup. I ran a rooftop tent on my Suzuki Vitara .. think the static load limit on the rack was 150.

If you have factory side rails, use a Thule 450 with a standard Thule cross bar set. Limit is 100 lb. Dynamic (when driving). If you are slick on top, get a Yakima or Thule track system installed.

Most of the rof rack rating system is based on center or gravity and how it effects handling and braking. You can have a much heavier static load when parked. Just get a light weight tent.
