Anybody draw a tag in Colorado?

I drew a buck mule deer tag for area 85, where I live near Trinidad, Co. This will make 3 for the last 4 years. There are plenty of over-the-counter elk tags and I could point you in the right direction. The trouble with those tags is the hunting pressure. Plenty of animals but even your best laid plans can go to, er...heck with all the other hunters.

I always put in for something in Wyoming and if you are willing to pay the extra fee you can normally get a tag for antlope buck, mule deer buck / whitetail buck, and Bull Elk. Antelope doe / fawn tags are readily available. Since I shot plenty of good bucks, I tend to put in for the regular non-resident buck but I put in for 2 doe / fawn tags.

Keep trying. Wyoming is particularly well run and worth the continued effort.

Thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it. I have a buddy that drew an archery tag up here close to where I live and I've found a buck in that unit that will go over 200". I found him 2 years ago while guiding a sheep hunt and I went in there last year and found him within 200 yards from where he was the year prior. He should be back if he's not in cat poop somewhere.

I used to guide on a place near Stonewall, what great country! Trinidad is a beautiful area.

I'll post a few pictures of that buck, I've taken a few through my spotting scope

Passed through Stonewall just yesterday. Awesome country. I was a cop in Longmont and did a number of drug deals, you know, for the good guys, in Windsor. I have killed a few geese up there in the past. North Park with Rand, Co the center of the hub, so to speak, was my go to area for years and years.

I was a member at Still Roven for birds for a few years also. Got any praire dogs that need to be killed up your way?
