Anybody have a 200 series Land Cruiser?

Mostly wondering how you like it, anything you don't like about it and how's it holding up?

Starting to think about replacing my seldom used Yukon Denali with something a little more capable.

Yeah I think Ive seen 2 where I live. I still think its hard to sell people on a 70k Toyota, no matter how awesome it is.

I see a bunch of G-wagons that have never left the pavement though. And those are 100k+ with too many luxury add-ons.

Ive seen a few around the Northern VA area, mostly seen 100 series going to soccer games and the grocery store.
An LX 570 has been parked outside my apartment building here in Shepherdstown wva a few tmes. Always have to do a double take for it as well as any 200 series to make sure it's not a highlander :-/

I'm the happy and very fortunate owner of a 200 series Land Cruiser, and having used it extensively offroad, as you can see in the photos below, I can say that I've really enjoyed it. Furthermore, I'm truly amazed with what such a big and heavy vehicle can do in adverse conditions.

What I don't like:

Well, it is big and heavy, which makes it really hard to maneuver in tight trails.

The upholstery color is too light and shows dirt and stains too easily (only color available here is light tan).

The original plastic bumpers are no good at all, and they are hard to replace with aftermarket ones.

Other than that, I have been really satisfied, and feel no regrets about selling my previous 80 series (two of them)

A lot more photos can be found in my blog, as seen in my signature.

I have one that I bought new in 09 and it's been great. For perspective I have had Jeep Wranglers, Land Rover Disco's, Xterra, and a Hummer H3 Alpha. I would have to say it's been my favorite vehicle hands down.

Seems everybody who has one loves it...thanks for the pics too they look great kitted up. I have a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon which I plan to keep awhile, so if I get one it will be to replace my onroad only Yukon Denali. Its likely to see some light trail use but will mostly be used for road trips and hauling my dogs around. Going to test drive one this weekend as neither of my local Toyota dealerships have one in stock.

I want a 200 series.
Me too. I had a ride in a mate's 200-series a month ago. It was superb. That big twin-turbo v8 diesel is a world-class motor.

Great photos Tucan viajero - you don't have any fear in punting the big toyo around, do you??!! Excellent to see it getting used for what it was designed.

Thanks!
Matto :)

If you're shopping for a 2012 Land Cruiser, also check out the Infiniti QX56, which is based on the famous Nissan Patrol. 2011 was the first year in a long time that the Patrol has been sold in USA.

The QX56 with 4x4 is about $6000 less expensive than a comparably equipped Land Cruiser.
